Cheap Waterproof Containers – M258 Decon Kit: $5.00
I stumbled across theĀ M2581A1 Decontamination Kit at the local Army Surplus store this past week. It’s a military chemical decontamination kit used up to roughly 2001, and you can easily find these kits online. Most of the sources that I see are selling the weatherproof boxes without the kit, and that’s exactly what you want. Expect to pay about $5.00 per empty box, which is a lot less than one of those name brand consumer boxes that do the same thing. These boxes are perfect for small medical kits, your EDC personal carry, electronics, or even to be used for Geotagging, burying cash and valuables or something where weather resistance is key. The case was originally designed to withstand a bomb-blast, chemical attack or nuclear fallout. They come with a clip and loop that keeps the top and bottom together. I’d only purchased two of these containers, but I’m going to have to go back and get more… Like 10 more!
